Purpose

The customer migrated from his legacy application to modern branch application system. The new system was developed on Unix platform with Oracle as the database. When it came to implementing the new system across its 30 branches, simultaneously, they needed help. Accel came to the rescue.


The Client

The client is a major white goods manufacturer. The company is based out of Mumbai and has 30 branches across India. They have a vast network of dealers who distribute their products to buyers.


The Challenge

There were many challenges in this migration.

Seamless data migration from old application
Uninterrupted Business during migration
Change management with respect to users and clients
End user training

The Solution

Accel has put together a team of migration specialists with multiple skills including:

Time lines were made and client approval was taken. The project manager took control of the activity and after giving the necessary training, the experts were dispatched to various locations. Project co-ordination was done from the Headquarters. The entire migration process was completed on schedule within 30 days. After the process is completed, Accel was entrusted with the task of managing this application in all branches.


Migration

Following activities are carried out by the migration specialists:

Month End process in old application
Backup data and migrate to new system
Continue the billing process for the entire month in the new process
End of month process in the new system
Verify the output (inventory, billing, Cash, Payroll) for its correctness and if everything is found okay, the new implementation is termed successful and the branch will continue to do the billing in the new system.

Accel continues to maintain the application across all the branches along with the infrastructure.


Facility Management

Accel manages the IT infrastructure of this customer at HQ, Factory and branches. The services include corrective and preventive maintenance, vendor management, SLA management and reporting. The infrastructure include:
